When you successfully complete a
course, your achievement will be recognized with a
Certificate of Completion, signed by the Instructor.
To get the Certificate, you need to
pass a final exam that will verify that you have mastered
the testing principles and techniques covered in the
course.
Since these courses are widely
recognized in the testing community, the Certificates should
be helpful with your career advancement as well as looking
nice on your wall.
A word about
certification . . .
Q. What about certification
for testing? Is there some kind of official certification,
such as "Certified Software Testing Specialist" that you can
get by fulfilling a set of requirements?
A. Unfortunately, there is
currently no industry-accepted standard for software testing
certification.
The Testing Center is working with
other organizations to define such a standard, but it
probably isn't going to happen quickly, given the number of
parties involved and the lack of a central authority in this
field.
However, when certification
eventually becomes a reality, you can be sure that the
techniques you've learned in these courses will include
virtually everything you'll need to qualify, since every
major testing topic is covered in depth.
